Safety Automata Network for Interlocking System

The paper presents a novel model for interlocking system. Current construction of interlocking system is based on double channel fault-tolerance and fail-safe structure implemented into one or two rack-mounted devices. Field elements like switches and signals received commands and power supply via separate cable network. This solution is expensive and the reason for this fact is price for cable network. New communication systems lay on the market cheap solution based over optical network and/or wireless system. Real-time system and sensor network gives new models and functionality which can be used into safety system. The paper present any ideas how to implement new scientific trends to construct an interlocking system as distributed safety system and design field elements as safety finite automata. Main goal is implementing fail-safe logic and control functions into all end devices and ensure access to them via standard optical or wireless communication environment. Distribution of responsibility about fail-safe behavior can be modeled via automata network or asynchronous automata network.
